Membership

Membership Eligibility: MT CoC membership shall be open to all individuals and organizations located in Montana who support the purpose of the Continuum of Care. A large membership representing diversity among homeless response system stakeholders is most beneficial. MT CoC members typically include, but are not limited to, nonprofit homeless assistance providers, victim service providers, faith-based organizations, governments, businesses, advocates, public housing agencies, school districts, social service providers, mental health agencies, hospitals, universities, affordable housing developers, law enforcement, and organizations that serve veterans and homeless and formerly homeless individuals.    

Becoming a Member: MT CoC membership is free of charge. Those interested in becoming MT CoC members must complete the MT CoC Membership Registration Form.

Membership applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a quarterly basis. Applicants will be informed if their application was approved or denied and provided a reason for the denial.  

Member Responsibilities: Members are expected to elect MT CoC Governing Board members, vote to approve and revise the MT CoC’s Governance Charter at least every five years, and participate in twice-per-year MT CoC membership meetings:

MT CoC Annual Membership Meeting: This meeting is held in person, with virtual participation accommodated upon request, and takes place during the second quarter of the year.

MT CoC General Membership Meeting: This meeting is held virtually in the last quarter of the year. 

Member Benefits: Being a MT CoC member provides the opportunity to: 

  • Participate in discussions and planning efforts relevant to MT CoC activities  

  • Serve on MT CoC committees to actively contribute to efforts of ending homelessness 

  • Attend CoC Regional Meetings in accordance with the applicable CoC Regional Plan  

  • Promote communication, resource sharing, and coordination across the MT CoC 

  • Support Coordinated Entry implementation and collaboration with partner agencies 

  • Contribute to data quality and system performance improvement efforts 

  • Participate as non-voting members in MT CoC Governing Board meetings 

  • Directly receive updates and newsletters from the MT CoC
