About the MT-CoC
The MT-CoC is a community-driven, action-oriented planning body whose mission is to make homelessness in Montana rare, brief, and one-time only through effective statewide leadership and collaboration. The MT-CoC carries out the duties of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) program.
Governing Board
The MT-CoC Governing Board, also referred to as “the Board,” is established to act on behalf of the MT-CoC Membership. Many responsibilities of the MT CoC Membership are carried out by the Board, with input from the members they represent. Board members provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction; help guide priorities; make decisions that affect statewide homelessness response systems; support accountability; and ensure the MT-CoC reflects the needs and strengths of communities across Montana.
The Board consists of 11 to 21 representatives serving at any given time. The MT-CoC’s goal is to continuously maintain a Governing Board that represents Montana’s vast and diverse geographic areas, as well as a broad range of skills, expertise, and perspectives essential to relevant statewide representation. All Board members serve a four-year term and are required to serve on a MT-CoC Standing Committee. The Governing Board meets at least quarterly, usually virtually, but at least annually in person.
